KBI Global Investors Debuts Two Sustainable Strategies

The Global Core Sustainability Strategy, which follows a two-year incubation period, targets a portfolio of 100 to 150 stocks. Classified under Article 9 of the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, the fund operates on the premise that environmental and social responsibility drive steady growth and superior risk management. Meanwhile, the Article 8-compliant Global Health & Wellbeing Strategy leverages the rising demand for healthcare services fueled by an aging global population. By spanning three segments and nine sub-segments, the fund seeks to outperform traditional peers by focusing on medical, safety, and wellness services.

CEO Geoff Blake acknowledged the challenging environment for sustainable funds, noting that the dominance of US mega-cap technology stocks—often misaligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals—has pressured relative performance. Despite political pushback and a shift in investor sentiment, Blake maintains that the firm's conviction remains absolute. KBIGI’s internal research suggests that companies with high social scores offer distinct competitive advantages, including greater organizational dynamism and resilience, which the firm believes will validate their contrarian approach in the current cycle.
