PayPal Integrates PYUSD Stablecoin Into Polygon Open Money Stack

The deployment of PYUSD natively onto the Polygon network consolidates wallets, fiat on-ramps, and regulatory compliance tools into a single ecosystem. By removing the need to connect disparate payment providers, the system enables firms to accept funds from bank accounts or cards and settle transactions in stablecoins, significantly reducing engineering overhead. According to Polygon Labs, the network has already processed over $2.6 trillion in stablecoin transactions, supporting major financial entities such as Revolut and Stripe.

For payroll providers and international marketplaces, this infrastructure offers a streamlined path to move capital across borders without constructing proprietary banking systems. Paxos issues the PYUSD token under a national trust charter supervised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. This regulatory backing, combined with Polygon’s existing fiat ramps, creates a compliant bridge between traditional finance and blockchain-based settlement. Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron noted that the utility of a stablecoin depends on its mobility, and this integration provides the necessary regulatory oversight for businesses to operate with confidence. This expansion follows Mastercard’s recent decision to incorporate PYUSD into its own multi-blockchain settlement network.
