Ripple Secures Luxembourg CASP License for European Expansion

The authorization allows Ripple to deploy its payment infrastructure to banks, fintech companies, and corporate clients throughout all 30 EEA countries. By combining this CASP license with its existing Electronic Money Institution credentials, the company can now facilitate end-to-end collection, exchange, and payout services within a unified regulatory framework. Cassie Craddock, Ripple’s managing director for the U.K. and Europe, noted that the company is now positioned to scale its operations as institutions seek out compliant digital asset partners.

This development arrives as the European crypto market undergoes a significant consolidation following the July 1 MiCA deadline. With the new rules in effect, firms must hold valid licenses to continue providing services across the bloc. Luxembourg has emerged as a primary gateway for these entities, hosting recent approvals for major industry players including Coinbase and Standard Chartered. While this license does not alter the underlying rights of XRP holders, it secures Ripple’s standing as a regulated provider in an increasingly restrictive landscape where unlicensed platforms face mounting operational hurdles.
