Anghelakis joined the bank in 2017, initially leading business development for life and insurance partnerships before moving into roles as chief of staff for wealth and personal banking and head of the office of the group chairman. Under his new mandate, he will report directly to Ida Liu, CEO of HSBC Private Bank.
The trust and fiduciary services unit, which focuses on legacy planning, succession management, and wealth preservation for families and philanthropists, is shifting to become part of the HSBC Private Bank structure. Liu credited York for his decades of service, noting that he leaves behind a division built on deep expertise in multi-generational support.
