Gaza Humanitarian Crisis Deepens as Aid Deliveries Collapse

Daily aid truck arrivals have plummeted to an average of just 69, a stark decline from the 500 loads that were already failing to meet basic needs a year ago. The analysis reveals that only 17 of Gaza’s 36 hospitals remain partially functional, while critical infrastructure—including water networks and sanitation facilities—has been decimated. For civilians, the human cost is catastrophic. Zenab, a 33-year-old pregnant woman, described a harrowing search for basic medication and hygiene, noting that she often walked for hours between devastated health centers only to find empty shelves.

Systemic Obstruction and Urgent Demands

The coalition, including groups like Oxfam and Save the Children, highlights that 50,000 children under five face acute malnutrition, while 1.87 million people lack adequate shelter. Amjad Al Shawa, director of the Palestinian NGOs Network, noted that every resident is now entirely dependent on humanitarian aid that rarely arrives. Beyond the immediate death toll, which includes nearly 300 aid workers, the groups are pressing for an immediate cease-fire and an arms embargo on Israel. Jolien Veldwijik, CARE International’s country director for the West Bank and Gaza, stated that the situation has reached an intolerable breaking point, with 2.2 million people at risk of dying in the coming weeks without a fundamental change in access.
