Fernandez, who joined the executive committee last year, has played a central role in the firm's consolidation strategy, including the integration of Amicus Wealth, Eastcote Wealth Management, and Rockhold Asset Management. His appointment coincides with a broader shift in the UK mid-tier wealth sector, which has seen an influx of capital following the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan's acquisition of a majority stake in 7IM earlier this year.
CEO Dean Proctor emphasized that while the firm remains aggressive in its pursuit of strategic partnerships, the focus remains on balancing external growth with internal expansion. Alongside Fernandez’s promotion, the company named Chris Justham as chief distribution officer to oversee its intermediary businesses. As of late May, 7IM managed approximately £35 billion in client assets, maintaining a diverse portfolio that spans private individuals, charities, and financial planners.
